SimplifAI – Solving Urban Challenges with Data

Client: Innovate UK: Technology Strategy Board

Problem: To address challenges surrounding the complex interaction between environmental, social and economic aspects of urban transport movements.

Solution: InfoHub’s contribution to “Solving Urban Challenges with Data” was to develop a software system simulating deployment of various traffic routing strategies and assessing the potential build-up of pollution in a region. The simulation provided a feedback to the optimization of urban traffic control strategies.

Result: Based on the simulations a specification for the instrumentation and the communication strategies for urban traffic control and for network users was developed into a business case for a demonstrator and the full-scale deployment.
